About OB Coding Guide
OB Coding Guide is a free reference for OB and maternity medical coding and reimbursement, written for the billers, coders, and practice managers who submit the claims. It exists because the alternatives are payer PDFs, paywalled forums, and pages that were last accurate three CPT editions ago.
Who reviews this
Every page carries a named clinical reviewer and, before final publication, a certified coder reviewer (CPC). Pages that have not yet completed coder review say so on the page.
Editorial policy
Rule statements follow a strict sources hierarchy:
Where payers diverge, we say so instead of pretending one rule fits all. We describe payer behavior neutrally: what gets denied, and what documentation overturns it.
How we review and update
Pages are rebuilt every January for the new CPT edition and Medicare fee schedule, reviewed quarterly where rules move fastest (telehealth), and corrected as payer policies change. Every change is logged in Updates and every page shows its last-reviewed date.
Corrections
Found an error? Email the corrections inbox with the page URL and the primary source that contradicts it. Verified corrections ship within a week and are logged in Updates.
